Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 58 - Don's Gloss

We're here, on a Thursday(!), to tell you all about the week's biggest news in gaming. Whether you're interested in Nintendo's next console; Konami attempting to erase Hideo Kojima from existence; or even just when you get to play as a Goat on your Xbox, then we've got you covered.

Then in lieu of a feature this week, we're treating you to an episode's worth of tracks from Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. 3 of the best tracks from the official soundtrack for the game, as chosen by the podcast's self-appointed music guru, Gareth.

Then in What Have We Been Playing we go in depth with yet more Dying Light, Resident Evil 5 and Runescape; before letting Don inform us on the latest goings on in his full-time job: Playing Destiny.

So warm up your ear holes, close your eye holes, open your mouth hole and try to keep all your other holes under control, because it's time for another episode of the Gamecentral Podcast!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 57 - Open Whirled

Technical difficulties meant that this week's episode is getting uploaded on a Sunday, but Thursday's loss is Sunday's gain, because a new episode of the Gamecentral Podcast has arrived!

We hit all the biggest news of the week, including who (unbelievably) won 'Best Game' at the gaming BAFTAs, as well as all the other major winners from the night; BBC Two's plans for a drama centred around the making of GTA; new Borderlands: The Pre Sequel DLC; DmC: Definitive Edition's reviews and whether it's worth picking up; and LOADS more news on top of all that! Almost too much.

In our feature this week, we're taking a look at the premise of "open worlds" in video games. The best, the worst, what a good open world can bring to a game, and the open worlds of the future and what they may bring.

Then in 'What Have We Been Playing' Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number and Dying Light are on the tips of our tongues, but will these 2 new releases keep us satisfied? What games does Don own but not play this week?!

Only one way to find out, welcome to the Gamecentral Sundaycast!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 56 - Viewtural Reality

GDC is taking place in America this week, and as such the news has been rushing in. We have way more information about Valve and HTC's upcoming VR headset the 'Vive', including how long we have to wait to buy them; if you ever wanted to try your hand at making your own game there's never been a better time; graphics are about to take a huge leap forwards thanks to NVidia, and they're also going to be releasing their own console; plus a bundle of new game release dates for you to salivate over, as well as much more!

For our feature this week we take it back to the olden days of the podcast and focus on a game we all (hopefully) have nostalgia for and (hopefully) talk about how great it was. The game of choice this time is Clover Studios 2003 classic: Viewtiful Joe!

Then in What Have We Been Playing we've got new games on the brain! Rob talks Dying Light, Don talks Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, and Gareth talks Heroes of the Storm. For once, we're ACTUALLY on the forefront of gaming. Come join us on the forefront!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 55 - Surpriapism

This week in news we discuss the multiple attempts at Virtual Reality that are set to compete this year; how The Order: 1866 did in this week's sales charts; what the current (hopefully final) GTA V release date is for the PC and much more.

Then in our feature, we've managed to get a hold of some first-person testimony from real survivors (though obviously not actually real, come on now) of video game violence. Barry Scott will be your guide down this rabbit hole of tragedy and accents.

Then in What Have We Been Playing, Don embarks on a great journey, Gareth wages war and Rob... erm, pays off his mortgage. It's just another exciting week on the Gamecentral Podcast!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 54 - Saturday Night's Alright For Podcasting

This week's episode is a Saturday episode. Schedules conflicted; real life got in the way; and Don stops partying for nothing, but a late podcast is probably better than no podcast at all!

In the news this week, The Order: 1866 has been getting almost universally panned by critics and gamers alike; Peter Molyneux and his truth-bending ways have been under a lot of scrutiny; and Mass Effect 4 is confirmed as having some form of multiplayer. We discuss all that, plus Sonic Boom, Asteroids, Mortal Kombat X and much more!

Then in what have we been playing, Rob has been introduced to the 3rd dimension, as he explores the games available to him on his brand new 3DS; and Gareth delves into another Beta this week, but which one? Oh, and you can probably guess what Don has been playing this week (hint: It wasn't Majora's Mask).

Fortunately, unlike with your girlfriend, it's not the end of the world when we're two days late. Enjoy this week's podcast!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 53 - Happily Ever BAFTA

In a week where Katy Perry was confirmed as getting her own game, it seemed only appropriate that BAFTA also announce their nominees for the BAFTA game awards taking place next month. Which games got the most nods, and who made the cut for "Best Game"? Listen to find out.

We also talk about Bethesda getting their own E3 press conference; Resident Evil HD's sales figures; Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare equalling Fifa 15's chart record; and the possibility of Netflix producing a Legend of Zelda TV series... And how bad of an idea that is.

There's yet more Gareth vs. Don this week, and we finish up the podcast by talking about Crypt of the Necrodancer, the Battlefield: Hardline Beta, and more. And all for the low, low price of "FREE!" What a bargain!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 52 - Monster Hunter Munch

We're here as always to give you the low down on the past week in gaming. Whether it's letting you know when the Battlefield: Hardline Beta is out (hint: right now); or telling you how many Wii Us and Amiibos Nintendo has sold; or even the latest news on the Last Of Us Movie! All of that and more, including what Hideo Kojima wants from a Metal Gear Solid remake, and what ex-Bioshock lead Ken Levine will be doing next, in a packed news section.

Then, could it be? No, surely not... Gareth vs. Don?! What will happen when these two gaming juggernauts go head-to-head in a sick and twisted musical gauntlet of Rob's own creation?

Then, we talk about Alien: Isolation and Assassin's Creed: Unity and whether they're hitting the spot for Don and Rob. Oh, and we end the podcast with a 10 minute discussion of which is the best crisp. If you needed a reason to listen to the end, you just got it!

Bon appetite!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 51 - The Games Of 2015

This week we're looking forward. The lack of any big new titles only reminds us that there's still so much to come later this year, including Uncharted 4, Hotline Miami 2, Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, The Order: 1886, Rise of the Tomb Raider, No Man's Sky and LOADS MORE! We'll be talking about them all, and why we're either are, or aren't looking forward to them.

Ofcourse, no episode would be complete without the weeks latest news, so we've got you covered if you missed some of the biggest news stories of the week. Elder Scrolls Online is dropping its subscriptions fee, Borderlands 3 is ramping up production and Microsoft have invented viable hologram technology! That's just the tip of the iceberg for news though.

Did you know that 51 is the code for international direct dial phone calls to Peru? Well you do now. So don't say you never learned anything, from the Gamecentral Podcast!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 50 - Brown Calculator

This week's Gamecentral Podcast is brought to you by the numbers "5" and "0", and the letter "A", for "Anniversary!" That's right, we're finally a year old, and wouldn't you know it, we've only gone and managed to secure an extra special guest to celebrate...

It's Mr. Biffo! Teletext and Digitiser legend Paul "Mr. Biffo" Rose has gone back to writing about video games with his site Digitiser2000.com and has joined us to talk about gaming's past, present and future. Not before he helps us tell you all about the week's biggest happenings in games though.

This week Rockstar have offered people compensation for pre-ordering GTA V on PC, but what have they offered? Which platforms will the Battlefield: Hardline Beta be released on? When is Majora's Mask, and the limited edition Majora's Mask 3DS XL coming out? What's happening with Club Nintendo?! DO YOU NEED TO EVEN BE CONSCIOUS TO REACH LEVEL 20 IN DESTINY?!? Believe it or not, every single one of these questions (and more!) will be answered.

As if all that weren't enough, we also discuss the word "brown", get more hot GOSSip from Don, and find out that apparently every game is just a random assortment of swords of varying sizes. It'll make sense if you listen to the podcast... Probably.
