Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 78 - Punished

We're here, and we've got all the big news from Gamescom, in fact, some might say we've got far TOO much news from Gamescom. There's also Goss Ip, and news about everything from Smash Bros Wii U; to Halo 5... I'm blanking on specific stories as I write this, but it'll just be even more pleasant of a surprise when you get there!

In our game this week we have a bonafide Marvel superhero helping us out! But which one? It's a mystery, impossible to figure it out.

And in What We've Been Playing we're talking FIFA, League of Legends, Destiny and flOw.

You're in for a long one this week because of the sheer volume of Gamescom news, but we don't mind going out of our way to keep you informed in the world of gaming! Aren't we generous!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 77 - Lights, Banter, AntMan!

Episode 77 is an episode like no other! Well, it's an episode kind of like the other 76 actually, except not!

In News this week we're talking about WWE 2K16's ever evolving cast of characters as it loses a wrestler, and gains a, erm... a cyborg? No, that can't be right...; Del Toro and Kojima are at it again; Fallout Shelter finally has a launch date for Android; the Fallout collection will be stored inside a miniature nuclear warhead; and we'll be filling you in on what games you'll be getting for free in your PS4 and Xbox Ones this month. All of that plus betas, Goss Ip and more!

We've got a special game to play this week, as Gareth faces Don in a test of audio knowledge, as we try to identify the First Person Shooter based on gameplay sounds alone!

Then in stead of telling you what we've been playing we take a detour to the land of movies and talk about Ant Man, Inside Out, and Thomas the Tank Engine in a special episode of Light, Banter, Action!

Week after week we do our very best to keep you entertained and informed about the world of video games... and, erm, movies I guess. You're welcome!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 76 - Royale With Cheese

The Gamecentral Lives Facebook page lost a member this week, but we're trying our best to keep it business as usual as best we can.

We've got plenty of Goss-ip and news for you, so whether your thing is celebrities cosplaying, birds of an angry disposition, or sailors, then we've got you covered. Other news topics include Street Fighter 5 not making you pay for DLC; the Minecraft movie getting a weird director; Rare Replay taking up way more space than it needs to; Prototype running way worse on a PS4 than a PS3; and KotoR 2 getting a big update 10 years after its release. Plus, EVEN MORE!!! So much news!

Then we find out that tea doesn't last forever... Or does it?

And in What Have We Been Playing we're talking Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Destiny, League of Legends, FIFA '15, Starcraft 2 and, if Don's done his homework, The Last Of Us!

The slow crawl away from episode 75 and towards episode 100 begins, hopefully you join us for the slow, slow ride!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 75 - Depressisode

It's a sad episode of the Gamecentral Podcast this week, as the gaming industry lost one of its finest in Nintendo's Satoru Iwata. We talk about him, and how important he was not only for Nintendo but the gaming industry as a whole, and how he affected us personally... However, we're british, and the only way we know to handle our emotions is to crack on and try our best to make light of a shitty situation.

So we (sigh) keep calm and carry on, with news this week of Hideo Kojima's continued removal from Konami's existence; Tekken X Street Fighter apparently still being an actual game that might come out; Halo's all time sales getting announced; and Batman: Arkham Knight's Batgirl DLC not coming out on PC any time soon, much to nobody's surprise.

We have more music as suggested by another podcast listener this week before we debut a new feature: 8-Bit Shit. Rob has selected classic theme music from films, but done in an 8-bit style. It's up to Gareth and Don to see if they can identify the music and prove which is the superior hearer of bleeps and bloops!

There's just time for a splash of tea before we talk about (and try to rename) what we've been playing this week and that's another podcast in the can!

All that's left to do is thank Mr. Iwata for all he's done, and to say that his influence will continue to be felt for many, many years to come. Thank you, Iwata-san.

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 74 - TSHHHHH

We're operating under a skeleton crew this week, so expect a shorter podcast, but don't fret, we'll still fill you in on the week's News...

News like a Destiny-themed PS4 that has Don all hot and bothered; Gears of War: Ultimate Edition's ridiculous install size; Just Cause 3's pre-order bonuses; new Tearaway functionality for PS4; and the new WWE 2K16 cover star, which has Gareth ALL excited. Plus a little bit more News on top of that, in case you hadn't had your fill.

Oh, and don't forget the audio viagra that is Don's Hot Goss IP! If your IP lasts longer than 6 hours please consult your healthcare physician.

We also talk about what we've been playing, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut and Driveclub are on the menu, finishing off with some shout outs to a few listeners who have gotten in touch this week.

Episode 74?! Oh hell yeah!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 73 - Enarmoured

Another week, another dollar, and another episode of the best gaming podcast this side of iTunes top 300 gaming podcasts list.

In our news section this week we're talking about the latest rumours about Nintendo's NX; more details of what exactly will be in Star Wars: Battlefront; more news about Arkham Knight's ridiculous PC issues; and the possibility of The Last Of Us 2. All this news plus more stories on Uncharted 4, Shenmue 3, Minecraft, Ocarina of Time on Wii U, and the new Tony Hawks.

Then Don seeks to gain some credibility back after last week's atrocious performance, by challenging Gareth (and himself) to another round of video game Guess Who, featuring some of the least consequential characters that gaming has to offer.

Finally in What Have We Been Playing we're talking Arkham Knight, Driveclub, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Borderlands 2 and Destiny. All of this PLUS extras like your Video Game Music of the Week, and the "longest running podcast soap opera" on the internet, Tea-For-Two!

Good luck finding another gaming podcast that crams this much variety into a single episode... And good luck finding us on the top 300 on iTunes. Well now I'm sad. Enjoy the podcast!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 72 - Guess Whom

We're fresh off from E3, but that doesn't mean that the video games stop! Quite the contrary, the video games are still out in force, with the launch of Batman: Arkham Knight this week. We'll be talking about the game in What Have We Been Playing, but there's lots to get through before that.

This week was filled with news, including Bungie shitting the bed with absolutely everything to do with Destiny's upcoming The Taken King DLC, from charging £40 for it, to forcing people to pay £80 for almost no extra exclusive content, and even selling content exclusively through Red Bull. As you'd imagine Don has a lot to say about it. That's not all for the news this week though, with more including Blizzard's plans for upcoming Diablo 3 DLC; Splatoon's sales figures; Nintendo's surprise F-Zero strategy from a few years ago; a few more details regarding Xbox One backwards compatability; and the many, many troubles of Arkham Knight's PC release. I don't know how we fit it all in!

If you've been lamenting the lack of a good Gareth vs. Don in recent months, then REJOICE! Because the popular gameshow returns with a round of video game Guess Who. We're given supporting characters from some beloved video games, and asked to guess them using only 10 "yes or no" questions. Our gameshows usually go pretty well... And this is no different.

There's just time for a spot of tea before we talk about the games that have been occupying our consoles and computers this week, and Batman: Arkham Knight, The Witcher 3, Hearthstone, Samurai Gunn and Destiny are all on the tips of our tongues.

Our Batman: Arkham Knight discussion in particular seems to shed some light on a few glaring problems with the game, but has Gareth's year-old prediction of the game being terrible come true?! Only one way to find out... By listening to this week's Gamecentral Podcast!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 70 - Pre3

E3 starts next week, and we round out our build up by talking about what Microsoft need to do at their E3 press conference to move more Xbox Ones and to keep their existing owners happy.

In this week's News we're talking about new Xbox One and PS4 designs hitting shelves; more announcements of stuff that'll be at E3, as well as stuff that won't; more on Dark Souls 3; Arkham Knight's install size; plus some game called Destiny is getting a big expansion soon? All of hat, plus your usual assortment of "more."

To round out our final episode before E3 we talk about The Witcher 3 some more, Heartstone, Velvet Sundown, Fallout: New Vegas, and whatever Don's been playing. Like it's a mystery or something.

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 69 - Master Thief Collection

Stop the presses, it could be the biggest piece of news that's ever occurred during the entire run of this podcast... We've reached episode 69! Oh, and some game called Fallout 4 got announced.

This week we're taking a look at Nintendo and what they need to do to impress and enthrall their fans at this year's press conference. Can they get non-Wii U owners clamouring to buy a Wii U, and if so, how exactly will they do that? We'll see if we can come up with an answer.

But before all that, we fill you full of the week's biggest gaming news stories and discuss Fallout 4, the Uncharted Trilogy: Remastered, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and the possibility of Dark Souls 3. As well as all that we've got news of Ubisoft's E3 line up; Arkham Knight's lack of load times; Fifa adding women's teams and Steam's new refund policy. Plus lots more! What a massive week for news!

Then finally, we talk about what we've been playing, which includes Rob's Witcher 3 backpeddling, Don's continued Destiny grinding, and Gareth's launch event attendence.

Phew, that's a lot to squeeze into a 69, and we manage to last well over an hour! A personal best, but my goodness are our jaws tired... from talking.
