Daily News - 3rd and 4th May 2011 - Yet MORE PSN News, Fallout DLC and Mass Effect 3
900(ish) More Credit Card Numbers Stolen In Another Sony Hack
The 2nd hack was against Sony Online Entertainment, an MMO developer. The attack was part of the big PSN hack but wasn't noticed until a few days ago. The hack said about 25 million accounts had their information exposed, with near 13,000 users' credit card info also getting "stolen". Great news though! While 13,000 may sound like a lot, Sony say that because the majority were expired cards, the actual figure is closer to 900, which is... umm... oh, still quite a lot actually Sony. Thanks for that. They are offering 30 days free to all of their MMO subscribers though, complete with free Batman-style masks for every DC Universe Online user. So call it even then?...
Fallout: New Vegas DLC Coming
Bethesda announced that starting May 17th they'll be releasing 3 sets of Fallout: New Vegas DLC, 1 a month. The three sets will be called Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road. Honest Hearts will see the player in the Utah National Park and have them meet the infamous Burned Man; Old World Blues gives you some pre-war weapons and lets loose some mutated Mojave beasties on you and Lonesome Road will tie into the main story somewhat as the old courier of the chip meets the player's character. None of these DLCs will carry on the game's story after completing the game ala Broken Steel for Fallout 3, so personally I don't see the point but the more DLC the better the Game Of The Year Edition, which is always good.
Mass Effect 3 Delayed
Casey Hudson, executive Producer on the game, said today that Mass effect 3 will be coming out "in the first three months of 2012", a few months after the Christmas-time release they were originally aiming for. Personally I don't see this as a big problem, I could literally wait 10 years for another Mass Effect, so I'm just thankful I don't have to!
