Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 107 - Remasterbation

It's E3! That's right, E3 has arrived and with it comes a veritable onslaught of games!

Rob, Gareth and Don will walk you through the big three events: Microsoft, Sony and The Legend of Zelda... I mean Nintendo.

Rob guides us through Microsoft's Press Conference as we talk about the likes of Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Scalebound, Dead Rising 4, Halo Wars 2, State of Decay 2, Inside, and We Happy Few. Quite an eclectic mix of games, but which member of the podcast thought literally none of them looked good?

Then it's Don's turn to (slowly) walk us through Sony's Press Conference line-up. We discuss God of War, Death Stranding, The Last Guardian, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Detroit: Become Human, Resident Evil 7, Days Gone, Crash Bandicoot, and Playstation VR. We're split again with Sony's showing, but you'll have to listen to see who thought what about which.

Then it's on to Nintendo to talk about what we saw of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The open world Zelda game was shown by Nintendo through live demos and we talk about what we saw, and where we think it might lead.

We also briefly touch on Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Titanfall 2, and Insomniac's Spiderman, as well as a few of the other titles dotted around the various events surrounding the big 3 press conferences.

And finally we finish up with a grand old argument between Don and Gareth about the Project Scorpio announcement by Microsoft. It's been absolutely ages since 2 podcast hosts have disagreed about something this hard, so grab some popcorn, make yourself comfortable and get your ass ready for some fireworks!

Happy E3, everybody!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 106 - lEak3

T'was the podcast before E3 and all through the 'net, every good announcement was being leaked, we're willing to bet.

Yes, E3 is in just a few short days, but don't worry, if you've managed to keep your virgin eyes pure or E3 leaks then our comprehensive AND SPOILER FREE news section is for you! We'll be avoiding the herd of elephants in the room and bringing you news of Videogame Nation being cancelled by Challenge; Resident Evil 5 Remastered headed to current gen consoles for nice and cheap; Fallout 4 mods proving to be very popular on console; and Minecraft passing another sales milestone. all of that plus stories on WWE 2K17, Elite Dangerous, Star Wars Battlefront 3, Telltale's upcoming Batman adventure game, X-Com 2, Destiny, and vaginas.

Ofcourse we'd just be being mean if we neglected to bring your your weekly helpings of Hot Goss Ip and video game music, so rest assured you won't be leaving this week's podcast with an empty stomach.

Then instead of talking about what we've been playing, we devote the last section of this week's podcast to the multitude of E3 leaks. Those of you who already know about them can hear what we think about what's been announced, but those that want to avoid the E3 spoilers should stop listening before the final section. Still listen to the music though... Please... Please listen to my music segment. Please.

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 105 - Gladiatorcentral

Podcast, READY?

Listeners, READY?

3, 2, 1... *WHISTLE*

On this week's episode of the Gamecentral Podcast we suffer from what may be the most devastating tangent of all time, so if you were hoping to stay up to date on all the week's happenings from the world of video games, then you are in for whatever the opposite of a treat is (a trick, I suppose.)

That being said, this week involved headlines about No Man's Sky getting delayed; launch PS4's not being great for Playstation VR; Xbox's powerful competitor to Playstation Neo entitled "Scorpio"; and lots more. And ordinarily I'd tell you that the best place to hear about all that news is right here on the Gamecentral Podcast... Ordinarily...

For this week's feature we have a very special "guest." We have a "German" composer of 8-Bit "music" here to give you a taste of some of his upcoming "songs." This section definitely isn't a waste of your time.

Then, as well as your weekly Hot Goss Ip and music sections, we get onto talking about what we've been playing this past week. Fallout 4: Far Harbour, Destiny, Nuclear Throne, Everybody's Don To The Rapture, and
Trackmania Turbo are all on the menu.

We thank you for your listenership of the Gamecentral Podcast and we can only apologise for this week's episode.

...Please come back.

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 104 - Lord of the Flies

Our main event this week is Rob's review of Uncharted 4, a game he was looking forward to so much that he missed the recording of last week's podcast rather than miss playing it for an hour! With anticipation through the roof, what will Rob make of Nathan Drake's final adventure?

But before we get onto that, we need to fill you in on the week's news! Disney is ceasing production of Infinity for good; the NX will apparently be like neither the WiiU or the 3DS; Mass Effect Andromeda has been delayed until 2017; and Star Trek Online is coming to consoles! All that plus news about the Overwatch Beta from last week, Modern Warfare Trilogy, Pokken Tournament, Street Fighter 5, and the upcoming slate of video game movies that we have to "look forward" to.

Then, it's not all Uncharted 4 in "What Have We Been Playing," there's also talk of Destiny, Galak-Z, Starcraft 2 and Dead Star. But let's be honest, you're only here for Rob talking about Uncharted 4.

Incidently, you may be wondering why this episode's title isn't Uncharted 4 related in any way. There's a reason for that, but to find out you'll just have to listen to this week's episode of the award-wanting Gamecentral Podcast!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 103 - Underwhelmed

No Rob this week, he's feigning illness whilst playing Uncharted 4, but Gareth and Don are holding it down with the news of the last 7ish days.

We've got shooters on the brain as we discuss the merits and pitfalls of Activision and EA going completely opposite directions with their flagship shooters. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1 have both been revealed and the internet is a blaze, but what do a ball of hair and a midget think? This is the only place to find out.

If shooters aren't your thing though we've got plenty of other stuff to talk about, like the new Pokemon Sun and Moon trailer; Nintendo's Zelda-focused E3; Destiny's player count; winnable bovines, and Overwatch porn searches. Told you there was plenty!

Then to finish off we're talkiing about what we've played this week, including the Overwatch Beta, Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Galak-Z, Destiny, and Monument Valley. Oh, and it wouldn't be the Gamecentral Podcast without your weekly Hot Goss Ip and Video Game Music sections, both of which are present and correct.

Be sure to tune in next week as (SPOILERS!) Rob tries to call Uncharted 4 the best game ever made and Gareth and Don tease him relentlessly for it. Probably. I can only assume.

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 102 - French Mustard

After missing a few weeks due to Disneyland-related issues (and also a few Rob-related ones) we're back and we'll be guiding you through the rough waters of video gaming as it happened in the latter half of April.

News of Nintendo's intention to release NX and Zelda in 2017 sparks quite the debate amongst us as we argue all the pros and cons of Nintendo's decision, before moving on to stories regarding Titanfall 2, Borderlands 3 and the rumoured Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. All of that plus new information about Witcher 3's imminent DLC "Blood and Wine;" a Batman Arkham Collection rearing its head; and YouPorn dipping its... toe into the world of eSports somewhat unsuccessfully.

All that news, as well as your weekly dose of Hot Goss Ip and video game music before we catch up with What we've Been Playing. Rob has been on a bit of a retro bender, Don has been grinding up on all the latest additions to Destiny, and Gareth has played some Fallout 4 and COMPLETED Dark Souls 3. Be sure to listen in to hear his controversial opinions on the game!

And to all you mustard fans out there... Bon appetite!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 101 - Dalmations

This week it's like learning to walk all over again, as we're forced to embrace triple figures, and all the pressure that comes along with it! But don't worry, we're not reinventing the wheel here, we've still got your weekly dose of Goss Ip right from the Don's mouth, and a helping of video game music hand picked to educate, illuminate and penetrate your brain!

But if that's not your bag, maybe you'd prefer some fresh news instead. We'll give you the skinny on only the best news in gaming for the week. Fallout 4 was voted best game at this weeks Video Game BAFTA's; the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are having trouble keeping supply up with demand; a Bioshock collection looks imminent; and we have a release date for Gears of War 4. All of this and stories about the Last Of Us movie's troubles, the next Division update, Gunstar Heroes backwards compatibly, and a saddo reaching level 100 in World of Warcraft in an unorthodox way.

The in What Have We Been Playing we've got Miitomo, Fallout 4, WWE 2K16, and Resident Evil Revelations 2 on the brain!

Triple digits feels pretty good you guys... Depending on where you put them. Enjoy!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 100 - Knobstalgia

It's here, our 100th episode, and we're celebrating with a look back over 2 years worth of "entertaining" podcasts that will have you shedding a tear, in more ways than one.

But before we get around to that, don't worry, we won't be letting down those of you who rely on us for the latest and greatest gaming news and opinions as we give you the biggest stories of the week. Stories such as a very convincing NX controller leak that turned out to be a hoax; Sony working on a "PS4.5" that's more powerful; Blizzard getting into trouble with an overly sexual lady in Overwatch; and a live demo of downloading and opening Miitomo for the very first time! But that's not all, we've also got news on Street Fighter 5's chart performance; Final Fantasy XV getting a release date, demo, anime and animated film all at once; and even a bit of Turok and Rocket League. Fit to bursting!

Then we cast a sorrowful look back at the past 2 years and throw a funeral for all those studios that we've lost over the duration. It's a rainy, dreary day but the bagpipes are in full swing and we've got eulogies to give to game companies that are no longer with us.

But it's not all doom and gloom, as we finish off episode 100 with a selection of our favourite ever segments from over 2 years worth of episodes. From testicle eating to lover's spats, movie trailers to Russian rescues, and a little Maurice Hawkins thrown in for good measure, join us in remembering a superb 100 episodes, if we do say so ourselves!

Here's to 100 more!

Gamecentral Podcast: Episode 99 - VR Has Come To

It's all aboard the VR train this week, as Sony finally announces a release window, and price for Playstation VR. We've also got news on another VR headset's launch line-up, as we delve into the Oculus Rift's day one games... With our own little twist, of course.

But that's not the only news that occurred this week, Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit against Rockstar has been approved; Microsoft is opening the door to true cross-platform XBox One V PS4 multiplayer; Fallout 4's Automatron DLC got a trailer and launch date; and find out where you can try the HTC Vive for yourself here in jolly old England. ALL of that plus news on Star Fox Zero, Half Life/Portal movies, The Division, Tomb Raider, and a surprisingly depressing story about a small baby beating Street Fighter 5.

As for the rest of the podcast, we serve up your usual Hot Goss Ip and music sections, as well as Rob's attempt to make our listeners recount childhood traumas through sound. Plus, there's more to be said about Gareth's impending trip to Disneyland, apparently.

Then finally in What Have We Been Playing, Rob is angry that Gareth won't play WWE 2K16 while Gareth talks about Wrestlemania, and Don has played the Division and Resident Evil Revelations 2... Well, sort of.

Enjoy the double digits while they last, because next week we're hitting trips, baby!
